J. Wesley Casteen received his B.S. in Accounting from the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University in 1989, and he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) cum laude from the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 1994. Wesley is presently enrolled in the University of Alabama, where he anticipates receiving a Master of Legal Letters (LL.M.) degree with a concentration in Taxation in 2010.He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and he is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA). Wesley gained invaluable insight and experience in entrepreneurial business by founding, managing, and ultimately selling his own business.
Wesley speaks regularly at Continuing Education seminars on topics including Business Organization, Succession Planning for Family Businesses, and Estate Planning. Wesley is a contributing author to the Campbell Law Observer, North Carolina State Bar Quarterly, and North Carolina Lawyers’ Weekly.He is active in civic and profession organizations. He has served on the Executive Committee for the 5th District Judicial Bar, including Secretary-Treasurer (2007), Vice President (2008), and President (2009). He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Cape Fear Chapter of the North Carolina Association of CPA’s (NCACPA), including Secretary (2005), Vice President (2006), and President (2007-2008).
